Our room on the first floor was super, super clean and very comfortable. Mary Ellen and Andrew are excellent hosts. We stayed at The Muse for five nights in late September. Yet another reason to visit Milwaukee: Who Knew?… If you find yourself in Milwaukee looking for a fabulous meal - check out Morel. We'll definitely be back - if for no other reason than we can't wait to experience the REAL Muse breakfast on site someday soon. We've had a couple of not-so-great B&B experiences of late, and our stay at The Muse restored our confidence in B&Bs - it's just perfect: no doilies, no dust, no excessive knick knacks, just a perfect stay with perfect hosts. The Muse is uber clean, VERY comfortable, and they've thought of so many little touches to make their guests feel special: two brownies in the room upon arrival, red and white wine available in the common area, gorgeous art adorning almost every wall (available for purchase, but not "pushed"), early check in afforded so we could watch the Ryder Cup on TV, a wide enough pedistal sink to set toilettries on, etc. From the excellent pre-visit communication to the super thoughtful to-go breakfast (because we left super early) they've got the B&B thing DOWN. Yep - another 5 star rating for The Muse! Mary Ellen and Andrew are doing it right in every possible way. (Mary Ellen is a fabulous cook!) As one guest shared “this food is better than my mothers! But don’t tell her I said that!” If there’s a downside (which I couldn’t find one!) my friend is a little uneasy with her balance so she slightly struggled going up and down stairs, but she asked me to NOT include this as it didn’t take away from her perfect 5 star rating of the MGG! But, if you have a similar issue, know there are multiple first-floor rooms for you to choose from! The cost was similar to hotels and for the weekend we were in Milwaukee, it was about a third of the price of any available hotel! An absolute steal of a deal!! Enjoy your stay! (Art that is available for purchase if you are so moved to do so! ) We stayed in the Angela room which is a large upstairs suite with a separate living room and balcony! The two of us were unable to utilize the entire space during our two night stay! It’s located in a thriving, yet quiet part of town which was fun to explore! In the morning, the breakfasts seemed straight from the garden, multi course, accommodating and obviously cooked with love. You already know what the pictures show you, but once you arrive, you’ll realize you’ve found something very special! Andrew and Mary Ellen are gracious hosts. This place fully deserves it’s top rating from Trip Advisor.
